VoyageDallas featured me again in a profile on my studio practice and how I approach my work as a working artist.
In the interview, I talk about studying at SMU's Meadows School of the Arts, running a stationery and wedding-planning business for nine years, and eventually finding painting as the creative outlet that became my full-time focus.
"I paint what I want to buy, and I want every piece to be my favorite."
We also talked about the business side of being an artist — building my own website for creative control, staying intentional about the commissions I take on, and letting travel inform my color and composition.
